The Group is a registered Scottish charity under the title of Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park Group. Charity Number SC034956
Some four open meetings are held every year, to which all members are invited and each meeting usually includes a talk of local interest. Members are also kept up to date with regular mailings and the Group holds an Annual General Meeting.
A small committee meets regularly to progress Group business.
The Group works with both the Council Ranger Service and Forestry Commission Scotland to further the aims of the Park and ensure that appropriate management is undertaken.
The Group gets involved in many projects, such as conducting Core Path Planning in the Park and also the re-establishment of an arboretum in the Woodland Park. The Arboretum Committee is a sub-committee of the Group.
As well as the many projects in which the Group is involved there are lots of opportunities for members to lend a hand on the hill.
The Group organises and runs a popular Kinnoull Hill Open Day event. This event invites members of the public to enjoy a great day out whilst learning a bit about the past, present and future management of the Park.
The Group carries out practical volunteer tasks on the hill in conjunction with the Countryside Ranger Service. Tasks includes scrub clearance, tree planting and footpath repairs.
